    Dear all,

Here at Sydney Children’s Hospital we are currently doing some work around how we de-access Port needles.

I would really appreciate if you could send me your steps on how you lock and de-access Ports. For example do you heplock the line, then hold the port with your non-dominant hand and remove the port needle with your dominant hand? Or perhaps you lock and remove the port needle all in one go, and if so, what are the steps to do that?

I understand how very busy you all are, however I am super keen for this information as soon as possible. Please feel free to cut and paste the steps from your policies/guidelines, or just a brief paragraph of what you do would be so very much appreciated.

    With kindest regards
