    Hello,

I was hoping other sites might be willing to share their SOP/policies on management of febrile oncology patients?

    1. Do you direct-admit your patients to the inpatient unit or are they admitted through the clinic (during daytime hours) or ED (during evening/holiday hours)?  I have heard of institutions direct-admitting these patients and am curious if other sites do this as well.

    2. Also, for your patients with F&N who are inpatient, what is your discharge criteria?  Do you ever discharge them to home on IV antibiotics?  What is your follow-up requirement once they are discharged?  Do you ever discontinue antibiotics without following up with the patients in the clinic?

    Thank you for any responses!
