Looking for a nutritional supplement for an older teen that either has no sugar, low in sugar or is organic. Family is convinced any extra sugar will feed his tumor. But his weight keeps dropping. They also are refusing any appetite stimulants.

Duocal is a powder calorie boost (without additional nutrients) that we use on many of our kids who cannot maintain weight.  It simply adds calories to what they are already eating.  Many insurances will cover it if prescribed as “medical nutrition therapy” instead of as a  “supplement.”   There is a provider link on the webpage for dosing information as well as forms for insurance coverage.  If families are willing to just pay for it out of pocket it is available at Amazon, special order from any pharmacy if using prescription and insurance, as well as from the manufacturer directly.
