As we have incidence of allergy to tegaderm we are trying to see what interventions can be implemented to decrease the risk of sensitivity. Many patient develop redness, itching and papules under the tegaderm making it difficult to reapply another dressing over the affected skin.
I am curious to know if any of you use barrier film (such as cavillon) to treat or to prevent this type of allergy to tegaderm?
-If yes, i would appreciate if you can share any studies regarding the CLABSI rates with the use of barrier film.
-If no, what other interventions can be done to decrease/prevent allergy to tegaderm?

    Thank you!
