We have 3 NPs in our outpatient clinic and utilize a disease specific model. One for leukemia/lymphoma, one for all solid rumors including CNS, and one for heme. We write chemo, see scheduled patients as well as sick walk ins, manage acute and chronic issues as well as a lot of case management/ triage/ and education.

Subject: NP Responsibilities for outpt
I know this has been asked before so if someone can send me a summary I would apprecaite it. We are restructuring and wondered how you utilize NPs in the office – are they population specific (leukemia, solid tumor, etc), only see well pts for chemotherapy, how many pts per day, how many independent visits prior to seeing an MD? Thanks, Laurie
