We don’t have broviacs anymore, and I haven’t had to declot a PICC. For our ports, we use the same 2mg/mL. The nurses place 2 mL and we let it dwell for 30 minutes. If no return, we let it sit another 30 minutes, if possible. I’m not sure which methods the nurses use to withdraw.

This message has been cross posted to the following Discussions: Advanced Practice Nurses and Pediatric Chemotherapy Biotherapy Instructors . ——————————————- I am interested in your practice for declotting lines , we are using 2mg/2mL concentration. What is the volume you are using on PICC’s / Broviacs /Ports? Dwell time? and method of infusion- stopcock method?
Thank you for your help with this request.
