Reply To: Flushing port for patient with Heparine Induced Thrombocytopenia
We had a teenage girl with HIT about 10 years ago- we were seeing her frequently for lab draws(1-2 times per week) etc and got by with only saline flush. Others may have more experience.

Hello, Your opinion on a patient issue is highly appreciated: We have an 8 m old baby-girl with infantile ALL who have a subcutaneous port and developed Heparine Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT). Do you have any experience or recommendation on the solution we can use to lock the chamber other that heparinized saline??
Looking forward for your feedback.
