    Hi Sarah, in revising and updating our NGT policy we found that tubes for feeding are typically to be used for 30 days according to the manufacturers instruction for use. We have seen this same “blackness” and it was generally in a tube that was in for a long time. Hope that helps​

    Hi,

    We have a leukemia patient that has an NG tube for meds. In the last 2 months it has been turning black on the clear part where you insert the syringe. It looks like the mother colored black marker on the outside. We dont know what it is….thought is that it is from the 6mp because it is a purple color. 

    just wondering if anyone else has seen this and what can we do? Mother uses bottled water with the tube.
