We typically just use sterile gloves for our IT chemotherapy procedures that are not chemotherapy sterile gloves. We must wear mask at all times including everyone in the room. It is recommended we double glove for the procedures but the procedure is difficult to complete as such. We also have googles and gowns available. For the OR we must wear white “bunny suits” to adhere to sterile procedure.

We are looking at our PPE process for APPs administering IT chemo in special procedures. What do your staff wear for PPE when administering IT chemo? Has there been any concern with entering the sterile field with a chemo gown on? Do they double glove using sterile gloves?
