    Hi Andria,

As of this time, our APP’s in peds heme/onc do limited billing. We only bill for procedures (LP, BM and ommaya tap) and if we see a patient independently, which is rare because majority of the visits the APP and MD see the patients. I would be interested to hear what other institutions are doing!

    Subject: Hem/Onc NP RVU question

    Hello,
I work in a non-academic hem/onc clinic with three other NPs, covering both inpatient and outpatient. In the past, we’ve had a set salary that was not RVU-based. We bill independently in the outpatient clinic but do not bill ourselves inpatient. However, our institution is likely going to an RVU-based model for our salaries. As we all know, we all do much more than just see patients, and I’m personally concerned as I do mostly inpatient care where I don’t bill myself. Does anyone have any guidelines or numbers for standards for working RVUs for pediatric hem/onc NPs, or any other general recommendations for this contract negotiation?

I appreciate any input you may have!
