We do. The providers typically order it before the initial hospital discharge. If they don’t, when the patient is scheduled for their 1st outpatient Peg (typically dose 2 or after), the clinic RN will ask the provider to enter an order for the Epi pen. We add it to the patient’s calendar to bring the epi pen with them and also remind the families before their appointment to bring the epi pen with them.

    Hi,

Do you require families to have epi-pens on days patient’s are receiving PEG?

    Thanks,
