Are you using Actigall for VOD prophylaxis?  If yes, Allo, Auto or both populations  We use it for all patients as supportive care.

Are you starting it prior to admission?  Occasionally if the patient has a history of liver issues.

Are you adding anything to the liquid to make it more palatable?  Cherry or syrup.

Are you placing NG tubes to deliver meds?  Occasionally especially if oral meds will be an issue at discharge, but it is not required

How are you handling patients with grade 3 or 4 mucositis?  Encouraging them to use pain meds as needed.  We still give the oral meds

    Hi,
Our facility is looking at starting patient on Actigall as VOD prophylaxis.  We had tried it in the past but had very poor compliance especially with the smaller patients that had to take the liquid.  I am looking for any input on how your faciliiet have tackled the issues of mucositis and taste.
