    Hi, Theresa-

We do not do reverse isolation for our SCID babies. We have an air locked unit that all BMT and immune compromised patients, including SCID babies are housed. The only SCID specific precaution we take is if the mother is CMV IgG positive we don’t allow them to breastfeed, otherwise they follow the rest of our BMT policies.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello all,

We are trying to gather information about what other facilities do for their SCIDS population. Some of the specifics we would like to know are the following:

Do you do reverse isolation precautions, if so, for whom? (all people the enter the room including parents)?
How do you manage other BMT patients who are in isolation and the SCIDS patient on the same unit?
Are there any other precautions or cares you consider with this patient population?

Thank you so much for your time.
