At Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, we restrict the use of soaps/cleanser/lotions/diaper cream during and for 48 hours post Thiotepa therapy.
I am unfamiliar with Vashe products (thank you for the link); however, I would LOVE to hear more about the rationale for this product use, e.g. rinse-ability (if that is a word??), pH, prior experience, etc…

I am so very curious – thank you for any information you are able to share.

Subject: Vashe solution for bathing (use with Thiotepa?)

    Good afternoon,

We are reviewing our Thiotepa skin care guidelines. Our wound team has recommended Vashe solution for bathing for our Thiotepa recipients as they can not use CHG while receiving Thiotepa. Our current practice includes bathing 4 times daily until  24 hours following Thiotepa infusion with NO soap. Can anyone share if they are using soaps, what soap you are using, bonus if you have feedback on Vashe!?

I wasn’t able to attach the Vashe brochure, but here is a link to their website: Vashe – Urgo Medical North America

Thanks so much for your help,
    Liz
