Our kids usually come to SCT with a port which we leave in and then just add a DL PICC with hopes of removing before discharge….

    Hello all,

Just curious what type of lines your BMT patients get upon admission if they do not already have an existing Hickman. So if a patient has a port, what type of line do they usually have placed?  If you do PICC lines, do you all give prophylactic anticoagulants? We would not normally do this but our last few PICCs have developed clots so our providers do not want to use them anymore.

    Thanks
