    At St. Jude we also have 2 RN’s double check every aspect of of narcotics every time and co sign.  We do have electronic MAR.

    At Lurie Children’s narcotics are on our high alert medication list and therefore always have a double check of the dose/concentration and requires a co-signature in our EHR (each and every time).

    Does your institution have a double check policy on Narcotics? If so does it include a 2 RN check on all doses of narcotic analgesic doses or specific to new orders or change in dosage? Also please specify if utilizing an EMR.
