The nurses set it for the total volume at the beginning and clear the pumps and record volumes every 2 hours to ensure accurate infusion amounts.

We are on Alaris pumps, and we set our VTBI for 2hrs of volume.

    Good morning,

For those of you who use Alaris pumps, do you enter 2hr limits for continuous chemo infusions or the total dose (total drug volume)?  For example if a 24hr MTX is infusing at 10mL/hr, do you enter 20mL as VTBI and reset every 2hours or do you enter 240mL?
