We utilize our KRA’s in annual performance reviews. For example, one of our KRAs is hand washing- if the unit does or does not meet target, it impacts performance review. The idea is that group quality indicators impacting performance reviews promotes an overall environment of high performing and peer accountability.

Is anyone out there using quality indicators within employee’s yearly performance review? Meaning, charts are audited based on quality indicators (let’s just say 10 audits on admission screening tool compliance for example) and if there were misses on 100% accurate documentation, the performance review merit is dropped (by a %) based on the quality indicators. I worked at a hospital back in 1995 that did this and I remember it vividly as it really made me ensure that my documentation was complete and accurate!
