    Hello,
We have the same practice that Kimberly mentioned but we do place the diapers in large non-permeable Ziploc style bags first.

We dispose of diapers during and for 48 hours post chemo in hazardous chemo bins.  As for weighing, we use the scales in the room and we encourage families to place diapers in a certain area (regardless of chemotherapy) so as to maintain clean and dirty spaces.  I am curious what others do since you raise a great question.

    Hello!

How do you dispose of diapers in the 48 hours post chemotherapy administration?

Do you weigh them in the room or in a dirty utility room?

Do you dispose of them in the hazardous bin?

Do you have a designated area/bag in the patient room where they may collect before being weighed?

    Thank you!
