For any patient on telemetry we have a strip printed once a shift for interpretation by the RN. We have a tele monitoring tech who will also print a strip for interpretation if any abnormal rhythms appear.

For patients who are on a cardiac monitor (on any pediatric unit), is your practice to print strips at scheduled intervals and have nurses complete a strip interpretation? We are currently reviewing our guidelines and this is not our current practice, just curious to see what other children’s hospitals do. Thank you in advance for any feedback!
