    Hello Chris:

    1) Who completes them? RN? Unlicensed assistive personnel? Varies? Usually a nursing assistant or the nurse; sometimes the caregivers

    2) Do nurses ever delegate this task to family members or the patient? yes

    3) If yes to 2, in those cases. how is each day’s staff aware of the caregiver/child’s competency, and how is completion of the treatment validated? Follow up and initial education (but not very formal)

    Thanks,

    Mary Lynn

    Hi all,

Quick question for the masses. If you’re doing CHG treatments:

    1) Who completes them? RN? Unlicensed assistive personnel? Varies?

    2) Do nurses ever delegate this task to family members or the patient?

    3) If yes to 2, in those cases. how is each day’s staff aware of the caregiver/child’s competency, and how is completion of the treatment validated?

    Thanks everyone!
