At McLane Children’s we use Theraworx protect.  It is a pH balanced barrier system and can be used on the face and perineal area as well.  We have had much better compliance from patients (especially teens) since going to these wipes because they smell decent and don’t leave a sticky film.   We are part of SPS and have gotten “permission” to use these in our bundle.

What are other institutions using in place of CHG bathing if patient can’t do the CHG bathing due to skin issues or if they are refusing to use it? Just soap and water ? Or using other bath wipes? We are just trying to have a plan B for our kiddos.

    Thanks!
