As an incentive we have a “certified nurse” bonus in March in the week of National Nurse Certification Day which is March 17th. RN’s can get the bonus for up to two certifications, which is really nice.

    Have a great day,

    Hello!!

I am a case manager/nurse coordinator for a small inpatient heme/onc unit (12 beds) within a 70 bed children’s hospital.  Upper management is starting to require 36 hours every 3 years of oncology specific continuing education OR CPHON certification for our “core” oncology staff.  We currently only have 3 CPHON certified RN’s

Wondering what other hospitals for  “incentives” for certifications?  We do NOT have a clinical ladder and management claims to use “pay for performance” but nurses are not currently compensated any differently for having certifications.

    Just looking for ideas.
    Thanks!!
