    Hello Ashlee,
if we use hemodialysis line as central line, we flush it the same way we do our other central lines. The hemodialysis lines that are used for dialysis are managed by nephrology team and are flushed with citrate. They are also not to be used for bloodwork or any other care delivery except for dialysis.

    Thank you
    Hanna

How do you all flush Hemodialysis Catheters at your institution? Do you use different concentrations of Heparin depending on if you are using it for dialysis vs just using it as a central line? Looking to establish a policy about this in our peds patients here. If able, would appreciate if any one has a policy on this they share it ! Thank you!
