We do allow patients to go to the playroom if they are accompanied by an adult.  We do encourage patients to remain in their rooms during chemo, but if it is an extended infusion or they choose to go we do allow them to go to common areas on our unit.  They are not allowed to leave the unit.  We used a closed system so minimizes risk.

    Good morning,
For those of you who are a mixed unit of general medical/surgical and hem/onc, do you allow patients with chemo infusing to attend your playrooms? If so, are there any specific guidelines?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kelly
