We had this issue as well initially. I am told by our product specialist that the carefusion tubing is meant to go with their clave. there is a very small difference in the way their tubing leurs with the microclave vs. their clave. We stayed with the microclave but are really careful when we get new tubing to ensure it works with the microclave. Generally a different manufacturer works best. Having said that, we haven’t had problems that i know of with the primary sets.

In Toronto, we have seen a significant increase in the number of line disconnections (including chemotherapy, TPN, hydration). We have the Alaris pumps and tubing, and also use the MicroClave system. The majority of the disconnects seem to involve the MicroClave Bi, Tri and Quad connectors. I am wondering if anyone else has seen similar issues with these systems and what you have put in place to help decrease the number of disconnections. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
