What institutions require their newly hired RNs to pass a medication calculation test?
If you do require it, I would like to know a few other things:
What is the criteria for passing? i.e. they get one attempt, they must get a perfect score, etc.
when the test is administered? i.e they must to pass it in order to be hired? It is administered in their hosptial orientation done by HR before they come to nursing orientation, or it is administered in nursing orientation.
Do you teach medication calculation to your new hires before they take their medication calculation test?
