A province-wide initiative is underway in British Columbia to roll out PEWS to all pediatric units and emergency departments, utilizing the same VS flowsheet. Vital sign parameters were determined using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale for a validated and streamlined approach.
We do not incorporate BP into the PEWS score.

I am wondering if you do use PEWS what vital sign parameters you use for a reference? (i.e. PALS vital signs in children or another reference)?
Also, do you incorporate BP into your overall PEWS score? (just wondering if there have been an modifications at other centers since PEWS first came out several years ago or you use a different scale for pediatric Hem/Onc/SCT patients?)
