For those of you that have EPIC what type of training is required for experienced and new graduate RNs when they first start? Live class or on-line module with test out or nothing? Both and this is done in hospital orientation for Epic then there is a separate class for Beacon – online chemotherapy module.  We have a 4 hour class for all new hires but are thinking of moving towards an online module since so many people come in knowing EPIC already–even new graduates. We have had Epic for about 7 years and we had asked our hospital do reduce the training time.  We are also experiencing issues with Epic in that there seems for us to be a separate outpatient Epic from Inpatient Epic and rare than any staff RN can have both or at least they have to go to training classes for both.
