We have not implemented their use yet but are working on it with other USP 800 requirements. We will be using it for all chemotherapy agents but not necessary all hazardous drugs. Roll out will be fall of 2018.

    Good morning!
A few questions for the group regarding closed system drug transfer devices:

    1. When did your institution first start using a CSTD for admiistration of hazardous drugs?
    2. At the time, was it a full system conversion (bags and syringe delivery) or a phased implementation?
    3. Prior to using a CSTD, was measures were in place? i.e. did you rely just on PPE for staff protection?

    Many thanks for your input!
