Our Preceptors do get a small stipend/hr for Precepting. They must have attended Preceptor Training Class to get the preceptor pay. The Preceptor pay is not tied to retention.

    Hi, all,
I was looking for more responses to this question, so I am re-posting it.
Does your hospital pay nurse preceptors anything extra or provide any other type of incentive?

    If yes:

    • Are they paid per new nurse or as part of a larger program, like a clinical ladder or a preceptor group?

    • Is the payment or incentive based on retention of the new nurse?
      • If so, how long must the new nurse stay?

    Thank you!
