We will be admitting a very young infant for chemo to our inpatient unit and have a couple of questions regarding central line dressing changes. Currently CHG is contraindicated for use in children less than 2 months old, has the literature changed regarding this guideline? Do you use CHG for this patient population? If not what do you use for cleaning their central line? Do you use a bio patch over the insertion site? What type of dressing do you typically use?
We appreciate your help!
