We currently only administer Pamidronate to our Oncology patients in our Ambulatory Chemo/Infusion Center. We do NOT use cardiac monitoring and we do not infuse Hem-Onc patients in our Infusion Center. We do not have a protocol for this type of infusion.

We administer pamidronate to our oncology patients in an outpatient infusion center.  We also care for pediatric patients from other specialty practices.  Our orthopedic physicians would like us to give pamidronate to their patients as well.  However, their practice has previously been to admit their patients and place them on a cardiac monitor during their infusion.

Do you use a cardiac monitor for your patients receiving pamidronate?  Do you have a protocol?

I appreciate any input you can offer.
