We also do let M.A.s  do anything with central lines.  They can do a butterfly lab draw when competency is signed.

I’m curious about this question as I have been asked by Senior Leadership if I can replace a RN that is leaving with a MA?  I have been searching the forums for staffing in clinics.

Have you been asked the same question?  Can a MA do the work RNs are doing?

We do not allow Medical Assistants to work with central lines.  They can only do butterfly lab draws peripherally if signed off competency.
