We try to treat them in our outpatient clinic however if it’s after 3:00 or so then we send to ED. We would also refer to ED if we have a heavy patient load and adding more jeopardize safety, etc
    hipe this helps.

    Hi Everyone,

Currently at our institution all sickle cell fever patients are referred to the ER for treatment. I was wondering if you could tell me if you treat your sickle cell fever patients in your outpatient clinic or if they are referred to the ER?

    Thanks
    Joanie
