Our team of infusion nurses rotate a Saturday as well. Our appointment slots are limited to 5 per Saturday morning, allowing only blood products, multiple day chemotherapies, and some established infusions for non hem/onc related diagnoses.

    Hi Kaye,

We are currently open on Saturday’s only. All of our infusion staff rotate through weekend coverage and we do have some nurses who participate in our institute’s weekend program. Our clinic is open only for infusion and for 8 hours vs M-F we are open 10.5 hours. The infusions are restricted to multi-day chemotherapy, transfusions, antibiotics, and lab draws. On average we see about 10 patients.

    Happy to connect.

For those of you who provide weekend outpatient infusion options in your outpaitent setting, who are the nursing staff?

    • Do your clinic nurses rotate weekend coverage?
    • Do you have separate weekend nurses?
    • What hours do you provide weekend infusions?
    • How many patients do you see (on average) on the weekend?

We would appreciate understanding how other ambulatory settings handle this!

    Thank you!
