Course Overview: This course is designed to address the critical transition period at the end of cancer treatment for childhood cancer survivors and their families. This course aims to recognize the unique needs and challenges faced by survivors and their parents during this time, including worries about future health, unmet educational and psychosocial needs, and fear of relapse. Participants will learn strategies to assist families in navigating the end-of-treatment transition process, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and support from healthcare professionals. The course will cover key topics such as the hallmarks of the end of treatment experience, the role of healthcare professionals in providing EOT services, and the factors that influence satisfaction with EOT meetings. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to improve the EOT experience for childhood cancer survivors and their families. 

Learning Outcomes:  

  • Recognize the needs of childhood cancer survivors and their parents at the end of treatment.  
  • Discuss strategies to assist families in the end-of-treatment transition process.
