APHON Evidence-Based Practice and Research Grant Program
APHON offers an exciting opportunity for APHON members who are embarking on conducting Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) or Research projects that advance pediatric hematology/oncology nursing practice and patient care.
The purpose of the APHON grant program is to support and advance nurses and their practice in order to optimize outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and blood disorders.
There are three available grant programs in 2026:
– APHON Evidence-Based Practice Grant in partnership with ONCC
– The Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation Research Grant
– APHON Research Grant supported by the APHON Star Fund
Interested applicants may submit their Letter of Intent via the provided link starting February 3, 2026. All Letters of Intent are due March 9, 2026. Projects invited to submit a full application will be notified by April 10, 2026.

2026 Grant Opportunities
APHON Evidence-Based Practice Grant
One $2,500 grant for EBP projects that address the clinical practice of pediatric hematology/oncology nursing. APHON thanks the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation for their generous support of this grant.

The Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation Research Grant
One grant of up to $5,000 for nursing research projects that address the implementation of recommendations from any of the 15 Standards for the Psychosocial Care of Children With Cancer and Their Families and the Matrix and Guidelines for the Standards. APHON thanks the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation for their generous support of the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation Research Grant.

APHON Research Grant
One $7,500 grant for a research project related to pediatric hematology/oncology. The Research grant is for individuals conducting research that will support and advance nurses in optimizing outcomes for children, adolescents, young adults and their families throughout the continuum of care for their blood disorders and cancers. This program is supported in part by the APHON Star Fund.

Eligible Applicants
Eligibility for each grant program can be found in the corresponding grant program guidelines linked above. All Primary Investigators (PI) must be active APHON members to apply and maintain an active APHON status through the duration of their study.

Applicants may use the provided Budget and Administrative Approval Forms templates, if needed. Budget and Administrative Approval Forms submitted by applicants will also be accepted.
