Endorsed Guidelines and Standards

Oncology Navigation Standards of Professional Practice

APHON, along with other organizations of the Professional Oncology Navigation Task Force, created the Oncology Navigation Standards of Professional Practice to provide clinical oncology nurse navigators, social work navigators, and patient navigators with clear information regarding best practices in the provision of professional care. These standards also provide benchmarks for use by healthcare employers and information for policy and decision-makers, health professionals, and the public to understand the role of professional oncology navigators.

The Psychosocial Standards of Care for Children with Cancer and Their Families guidelines are published by the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation and provide strong recommendations for basic elements of psychosocial care for all children with cancer.

Baseline Standards for Pediatric Oncology Nursing Care 

The Baseline Standards for Paediatric Oncology, Nursing Care guidelines, were developed by the SIOP PODC Nursing Working Group and provide baseline standards for paediatric oncology nursing care in low to middle-income countries.
