Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Program
The Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Program is designed to provide nurses with the knowledge base needed to safely care for children and adolescents receiving chemotherapy or biotherapy.
Nurses will learn both the theoretical knowledge and key principles needed to safely, competently, and consistently administer chemotherapy and biotherapy. Nurses who have successfully completed the APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Providers program will have been provided with information about the highest standards and practices in pediatric chemotherapy and biotherapy.
Provider Courses
The Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Course is a 2-day course is designed for nurses who are new to pediatric and adolescent chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, as well as for those who want a comprehensive review.

Provider Renewal
To ensure that providers stay current in their knowledge of safe chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, APHON requires approved Providers to renew their status. The first renewal will occur within two years of attending a pediatric chemotherapy/biotherapy provider course and achieving a passing score on the post-test and chemotherapy/biotherapy renewal will then occur every two years after that.

Instructors
The APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Instructor Course is designed for any nurse who has completed the provider course and meets the qualifications to be trained to teach the course. Successful completion allows nurses to return to their institutions as recognized APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Instructors who are able to provide ongoing instruction and education to other registered nurses.
