Sickle Cell Disease Coalition 2026 Annual Summit

Join the Sickle Cell Disease Coalition (SCDC) for the 2026 SCDC Annual Summit: Every Life Stage, Every Voice, Every Opportunity: Advancing Whole-Person SCD Care on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.
This virtual Summit will bring together coalition members, healthcare professionals, community leaders, advocates, researchers, caregivers, and individuals living with sickle cell disease (SCD) to explore whole-person, lifespan-oriented approaches to care. Through storytelling, expert-led discussions, interactive sessions, and collaborative action planning, participants will examine how clinical care, mental health, social support, community resources, research, advocacy, and policy can work together to improve outcomes across every stage of life.
Participants will leave with practical strategies, shared priorities, and opportunities for continued collaboration to strengthen coordinated care and advance collective impact for people affected by SCD.

A panel discussion on whole-person, lifespan approaches to SCD care, including care delivery, research, advocacy, and sustainable support systems that support lifelong well-being, followed by interactive workshopping with attendees to identify and collaborate on initiatives .

A session focused on patient-centered, psychologically safe, and supportive environments that promote equitable treatment, elevate lived experience, and strengthen psychosocial well-being.
2:00-2:30 p.m. ET | Advocacy in Action: Progress, Priorities, and Opportunities Ahead
An update on advocacy developments, policy priorities, and opportunities for stakeholders to collaborate and drive meaningful impact for individuals and families affected by SCD.

Interactive breakout discussions to identify challenges, opportunities, and recommendations that can help guide Coalition priorities and field-wide action in 2027.
