Statement on Hatred and Racism
As nurses, we are ethically and professionally obligated to deliver culturally congruent care and to protect our patients. Racism and hatred of all forms cannot be tolerated at any level. APHON is grateful for the work we do to support nurses, patients, and families of all races across the globe. We are proud to stand in solidarity with people of color and with those who call for justice and action as we fight together to spread awareness and end systemic inequalities.
As we begin work on APHON’s strategic plan, we will focus our attention on diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community. The only way to make change happen is to look inside ourselves and find the path forward, together.
